Harry Styles torna sulle scene e torna a collaborare con Aube Perrie. Il regista francese per Aperture realizza uno strano incrocio tra Lost In Translation e Weapon of Choice (e, qualcuno deve pur dirlo, Tre uomini e una gamba). La star si trova in un hotel dove,forse per solitudine o per noia, inizia a temere di essere aggredito da uno sconosciuto che lo sta seguendo.
Le successive sequenze di lotta e coreografia (quest’ultima curata da Ryan Heffington) sono spettacolari, ma soprattutto grottesche, fino a raggiungere il parossismo, rivelandosi parto della mente dello stesso Styles. Forse è una metafora del suo rapporto con i fans e la fama, oppure una proiezione paranoide del suo narcisismo.
Oppure ancora – e questa sarebbe un tipo di metariflessione non nuova per il regista -, dato che il sacchetto di plastica che ha in mano lo scosciuto reca lo stesso smile della foto profilo di Perrie su Instagram, potrebbe trattarsi di una metafora sul rapporto tra artista musicale e regista del videoclip. Libera interpretrazione, ma in ogni caso: “we belong together”.
