WHAT IS A MUSIC VIDEO?
«The opportunity to tell stories or portions of stories; small specific moments of a narrative. A perfect space to experiment with languages».
«I like the plots full of subtexts in which you can have complex characters move with their own stories behind them. For example in Ca’ va by Germanò, it’s just a single frame in a planned sequence of a party among friends, and yet I think it was the longest treatment I have ever written. It tells the story of Alex returning from France after a complicated relationship; he’s happy to be back among his friends in San Cosimato, and also of one of his friends who is obsessed with canapés, aspic, and cakes».
«Usually I have a direct contact with the artist, and for this reason I work on a few videos every year and only for songs that I really like. During the writing phase I interview in depth the author of the piece and I collect their intentions, then I punctually twist them».
«I steal from the old, I learn from the young. I am kind».
YOUR BEST MUSIC VIDEO
«Stella by Giorgio Poi because we built 250 square meters of fake woodland and Matteo non c’è by Germanò because we literally tore the face off of Corrado Fortuna».
THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS WORK
«The jokes of the machinists, those about the electricians, the kraft, the fluo tape
on the clothes, the set designers, the jokes about set designers, the coffe machine of Palma, the
Volkswagen of Benjamin, Bianca and Leone, the comments by Zavvo, Thony, Peppino
di Capri, setting things on fire, the fights about who has to set things on fire, the joke
about the banana, the “cucumbers”, fruit in general, the time of the acknowledgements, the
editing, the casual fashion and matching suitcases. My favorite movie is “Volere Volare”».
